We have been visiting the park now for many years with your children and were amazed by the changes done in the last 2 years by the new owners. They have redone all the courses, have invested in a much more secure security System, which actually allowed our 7 and 9 year old children to do the climbs on their own. My daughter was even allowed to do the difficult black course and was constantly observed by the staff. Staff also communicates continuesly with walkie talkies ensuring that the park is overseen all of the time. They also have a nice picnic area, which can be used for lunch or breaks. Great experience and our first choice of rope park, when staying in the Sarlat area
Zip line park near Sarlat. Plenty of routes, with various difficulty levels. Professional and helpful guides. Was not crowded when we visited. The kids (from 10 to 18) had lot's of fun for hours
Two of our children, aged 7 and 13 tried out the course.
Firstly the staff are very friendly and speak some English which is handy!
Parking is free and there is a little snack bar where you can buy soft drinks and ice creams.
The course itself is a selection of high ropes courses in the woodland, similar to the Go Ape style ones in the UK.
However the French attitude to to health and safety is more relaxed than we were used to in England! For example the participants don't wear helmets, and as you go round the courses you unfasten yourself from the wires and then fasten on again on the next bit.
It was all ok and no one hurt themselves, but it did feel a little different to what we are used to at home.
Our 13 year old really enjoyed himself and had a wonderful time on the courses, but our 7 year old found it harder (mainly due to the clipping and unclipping) and struggled after a while. At one point my husband found a ladder and went up the course to rescue her as she got stuck.
The zip wires are lots of fun but as a mum I was worried about the children getting their fingers caught, as the instructor advises you to place a hand on top of the pulley thingy whilst descending on the zip wire. I was a but worried they would move their hand by accident and lose a finger, but it was all ok in the end.
Children over 12 cost âŹ23 and under 12s are âŹ17 but I would recommend the course to (say) over 10s so the child is old enough to handle the equipment. Our 7 year old was probably a but young for it.
There are a variety of courses, ranging from the easy green one, through blue to black, and there is also a fun play area which any age can use.
We've been to a few high ropes courses both in France and the UK, and would rate this one highly. There are several different courses, rated green (for little kids), blue, red and black, plus one course which is almost all zipwires. The quality of instruction, equipment, helpfulness and safety standards were good. Instructors spoke both English and French. We spent about 4 hours covering the various courses, and the different degrees of difficulty meant it worked well for kids of differing ages. A really good fun day out
After a delightful chat with the new proprietor, and a session on the test course, we loosed our daughter (13) and her friend (12) on the parcours. They tackled everything with confidence and gusto, and we got stiff necks! We watched a number of 'rescues', where people needed help to proceed. This was given impressively swiftly and very efficiently and with great courtesy and encouragement. There were lots of people there and all having a great time, I would say. Our daughter completed 'le noir' - the most difficult parcours and both girls had a great time. I would certainly recommend the park.
The staff were friendly, extremely efficient and helpful. An extremely enjoyable day out.
Monkey's Forest is a high ropes course set in the beautiful French countryside. We visited in July with my 2 children (aged 13 and 16) and a friend (17). There were 5 different courses (2 red, 2 blue and 1 black) which were progressively harder. My 13 year old felt that the black level which required a lot of strength, was too challenging; the older 2 did cope with this one though which finishes with a long zip line.
I was very impressed with the safety procedures. The kids were all given harnesses and were supervised to make sure they were put on correctly. They then had to watch a video which explains how the various clips and attachments worked and had to physically attempt mock versions of these (some on the ground, some only a metre high) again under supervision. The guy was very friendly and patient, ensuring that all 3 had mastered the various clipping techniques before allowing them to progress.
The obstacles on the courses were well varied and provided lots of challenges. The staff (there were lots of them) were attentive without being overbearing.
Altogether, we spent about 3 - 4 hours here, following the ropes with a visit to the small shop on site which sells ice creams and soft drinks.
I'd definitely recommend this trip to holidaymakers staying in the area.
